KATO WAKE is a painter, creative thinker, graphicl designer, and entrepreneur who lives in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.

Kato Wake is a self-taught, award-winning artist who has enjoyed a vibrant art & design life. She is a certifiable colour freak and can paint in many styles – abstraction to realism – in acrylics, oil, cold wax and oil, and mixed media.

By creating classes that are both educational and fun, Kato has helped a few hundred students become better painters and find their visual voice. Kato is passionate about teaching 2D art fundamentals: colour, value, line, shape and texture.

She has taught design, art fundamentals and painting for well over a decade in Ontario and Portugal. Students of all ages have ranged from complete beginners to semi-professional, working in various styles. Kato values everyone’s creative process, and inspires and encourages personal discovery.

She has led to vibrant self-employed career as a graphic designer, art and design instructor, store-owner, and hospitality trainer. For the past decade, Kato has teamed up with partner Billy Munnelly of Billy’s Best Bottles (www.billysbestbottles.com), co-planning and co-hosting small group travel to Europe, focusing on wine, food, culture, and FUN! Her dream is to teach classes in Europe, and combine art with travel.
