A 10 foot long multi-faceted drawing that depicts an energetic city, in this case Toronto, Canada. Kato Wake the artist used earthy and black colored conte and charcoal and worked quickly to showcase the city from an aerial view.

I am a visual artist who creates 2 dimensional works, using a wide variety of techniques and materials. My art practice is diverse and project based – for exhibits I develop a number of art pieces based on investigating a particular theme. Having moved countries, I am drawn to themes of home, displacement and multiples identities. I approach my art making through play and curiosity, and find joy in mark making, colour and and discovering hidden beauty through simple observation. I share my creative process with others through facilitating group workshops and art residencies, where I support and encourage creativity for all participants.
